Music & Home to V V Records

The V V Records story goes back over 50 years, when noted big band leader, conductor, composer, arranger and pianist Vic Vogel opened a commercial account with the Laurentian Bank and created Vic Vogel Productions, Inc.  V V Records is the modernized extension of this original vision. With a career spanning nearly 60 years and encompassing jazz, rock, blues, classical – you name it – Vogel has an abiding interest in all genres of music. As the CEO and co-founder of V V records, he wanted to provide a home for as wide a variety of talents, styles and traditions as possible.  And since its inception in 1998, V V Records has grown to provide not only a home for Montreal artists, but international stars like Cuban jazz pianist Chucho Valdez as well.

VV’s artists represent an embarrassment of riches, reflecting in part Canada’s broad cultural mosaic:  Blues, Folk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, Latin, World – all these find safe harbor within the VV label. Being a new company, VV Records’ marketing strategy is also new and somewhat radical, presenting a variety of popular styles with wide market appeal, a business among businesses where labels usually try to corner their own niche market by sticking to one tradition or another.
