This CD is the testimony of two major music artists: Vic Vogel and Chiquitín. Both careers spanning more than 55 years each! Chiquitín, a vocalist, born Alfredo Morales in 1932, is a Cuban native where he still makes Holguín his home. A man of all seasons and of multiple talents, Vic Vogel, at 69, is the epitome of the modern day jazz composer, arranger/conductor continuously evolving and working to achieve higher standards for jazz and its musicians. Chiquitín started percussion at the age of 9, then began singing in vocal groups, and by the time he was 18 he decided to become a professional. Chiquitín participated in the first Benny More festival in 1963. As a composer, Chiquitín is well known for his song, Terrible Sueño. Other titles among his 100-odd songs are very much part of the popular repertoire of Cuba as well. Chiquitín, at 73, will finally get the recognition he rightfully deserves.
