With a block 8 Hermit Thrush 25 cents from the BIRD issue of July 23, 1969 (65 days before this letter was sent) paying the Registered fee of 50 cents, and 25 cents paying the Subsequent “AR” (return receipt after mailing) finally 25 cents for the first half oz Air Mail rate and $1.00 for an additional 2 oz (4x ½). So a $2.00 postage fee, probably why that envelope was “OPENED FOR CUSTOMS EXAMINATION” a label was put on the cover over a AIR MAIL Label. Scarce destination with commemoratives stamps with correct usage. Lovely.
